The Sandman was a Bahamian drug lord, based on the island Lobster Cay during the 1980s. He was an ally of Tony Montana during his fight against Alejandro Sosa, and Montana assisted the Sandman with his fight against the Colombian drug cartels in the Caribbean.

The Sandman was an Afro-Latin drug lord based on Lobster Cay in the Bahamas, manufacturing cocaine at a plantation on the western shore of the island. During the 1980s, The Sandman manufactured cocaine for sale in Miami, and, in 1984, he decided to contact Tony Montana about helping him with fighting against the rival Bolivian Sosa Cartel and the Colombian Ortega Cartel, who were muscling in on The Sandman's operations. The Sandman cut a deal with Montana; the Sandman would control the islands and manufacture the drugs, while Montana would control Miami and distribute the drugs. Montana helped Sandman with taking over the islands, and he was rewarded with large quantities of drugs for distribution in the United States. Montana was able to defend the Sandman's plantation on Lobster Cay before recapturing his processing lab on the island of Tranquilandia, and the Sandman decided to sell Montana his plantation, giving him complete control over both manufacturing and distribution.
