The Red Bull Company (Italian: Compagnia de I Tori Rossi), often simply going by the Red Bulls were an Italian mercenary company (or condotierri) founded by Gualtieri Orsini that served primarily in Greece and Anatolia under various Byzantine rump states, most notably the Latin Empire. The company became famous for its efficacy, with many notable victories under its belt, often against unfavourable odds.
Under Gualtieri's leadership, the company embraced gunpowder and light cavalry tactics, eschewing traditional European styles of warfare such as cavalry charges. At the battles of Badirga and Gökçedam, the company defeated far larger forces via unorthodox tactics, making them highly sought after troops, even after the dissolution of the main company in 1401. Splinter groups founded by Gualtieri's second-in-command, Galeazzo de Ferrara and his quartermaster, Spinello the Black Eye continued to serve in Greece and Italy for many years.
