The Democrats (Dem) were a centrist political party in Italy that was active from 1999 to 2002. The party was founded by Roman Prodi after he left office as Prime Minister, and many of its members were former Christian Democracy and Italian Republican Party members. Its ideology ranged from Prodi's Christian left views to the former Republicans' social liberalism and Antonio di Pietro's social democracy. In 2002, the party merged into The Daisy.
