The Claimers were a notable group of bandits and marauders from Georgia that emerged locally during the global zombie apocalypse of the 2010’s. They primarily inhabited the woods of Georgia and were psychotic hunter-gatherers with a draconian code that forbade lying and treachery, utilizing violent techniques against all violators. They did not adhere to any form of normalcy either as they were opportunistic scavengers who, if given the signal, would engage in rape, mass murder and torture for no large purpose.
Biography[]
Origins and Early Formation[]
The Claimers didn’t start as the sadistic, organized bandits they became. In the early days of the outbreak, Joe was just another survivor trying to make sense of the new world. A former mechanic from Georgia, he understood that survival wasn’t about fairness—it was about who had the strength to take what they needed. As he traveled, he picked up men who shared his ruthless philosophy and struck loyalty into them.
At first, it was just Joe and a few drifters who realized that scavenging abandoned houses was easier when you weren’t alone. They moved through small towns, clearing homes, killing walkers, and taking whatever they could carry. But he knew that a loose group of men with no rules wouldn’t last. Petty disputes over food, weapons, and sleeping arrangements would tear them apart before walkers or rival groups could. That’s when he established The Code—a set of ironclad rules that turned a gang of scavengers into a dogmatic band of killers.
Their Code and Politics[]
- "Claimed" Rule – If a member sees something they want (food, weapons, a sleeping spot), they call out "Claimed," and it belongs to them. Anyone who violates this is punished.
- No Lying – Lies cause distrust, and distrust gets men killed. If a man is caught lying, he is beaten—sometimes to death.
- Strength Decides Rank – Fights over disputes are settled through brute force. If someone can’t defend their claim, they don’t deserve it.
- No Desertion – Once you're in, you're in. Anyone caught trying to leave is hunted down and executed.
- No Exceptions for the Weak – The group takes what it wants, including from weaker survivors. If you’re not with the Claimers, you’re a target.
