Terumoto Ishaki (19 March 1915 – 15 September 1944) was a captain of the Imperial Japanese Army. Ishaki was killed in the Battle of Peleliu in World War II.
Biography[]
Terumoto Ishaki was born in Sakurai City in Nara Prefecture, Japan on 19 March 1915. Ishaki enlisted in the Imperial Japanese Army during the Second Sino-Japanese War and he commanded a small unit of troops on the island of Peleliu during World War II. When the United States invaded the island, Ishaki and his force held them back at a series of trenches and bunkers near the entrance to a swamp, but he was killed by a hand grenade.
