
Terry' Texas Rangers, also known as the 8th Texas Cavalry Regiment, was a Texan cavalry regiment of the Confederate States Army that was active from August 1861 to 26 April 1865 during the American Civil War. Benjamin Franklin Terry recruited and organized the regiment in Houston, and it fought in 275 battles in seven states, from the Battle of Shiloh and the Battle of Perryville to the Battle of Chickamauga and the Chattanooga campaign. The regiment surrendered following its final charge at the Battle of Bentonville.
