Teresa Leger Fernandez

Teresa Leger Fernandez (born 1960) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-NM 3) from 3 January 2021, succeeding Ben Ray Lujan. She was the first Hispanic Neomexican to represent the state's northern parts.

Biography[]

Teresa Leger Fernandez was born in Las Vegas, San Miguel County, New Mexico in 1960, the son of State Senator Ray Leger. She worked as a community-building and tribal advocacy attorney in Santa Fe, and, in 2020, she was elected to succeed retiring Democratic incumbent Ben Ray Lujan in the US House of Representatives.
