Terao Esaki (1953-) was a Japanese mahjong player and information dealer who was based in Dotonbori, Osaka during the 2000s. On the night of 17 December 2006, the yakuza Kazuma Kiryu approached him for information about a bullet which had been used by an assassin to wound the policewoman Kaoru Sayama, and Esaki revealed that it likely came from Ryo Takashima's Takashima-gumi yakuza family due to his arms smuggling activities. However, he attempted to betray Kiryu after Toranosuke Sengoku put a 100 million bounty on Kiryu's head; Kiryu beat down Esaki and his thugs and forced Esaki to reveal the Sengoku-gumi's responsibility for his bounty. Esaki later took part in the kidnapping of Haruka Sawamura, and, as a result, he was once again beaten down by Kiryu days later and forced to reveal that Torazo Kurokawa also had a role in the plot.
