The Temple of Kom Ombo is an Ancient Egyptian double temple located in the town of Kom Ombo, Aswan Governorate, Egypt. The temple was built from 180 to 47 BC, with the Ptolemaic pharaoh Ptolemy VI Philometor initiating the construction and Ptolemy XIII finishing the temple with its inner and outer hypostyles. The temple's courts, halls, sanctuaries, and rooms were dedicated for two sets of gods, with the southern half of the temple being dedicated to the fertility god Sobek and the northern part being dedicated to the falcon god Haroeris ("Horus the Elder") along with Tasenetnofret (a special form of Hathor) and Panebtawy (Lord of the Two Lands). The temple was not only home to physicians whose services were besought by thousands of pilgrims (including men struggling with impotence), but also to sacred crocodiles; 300 crocodile mummies were discovered in the vicinity and many of them displayed in the temple's Crocodile Museum.
