Temple of Diana Cefalu

The Temple of Diana is a ruined Hellenic pagan temple located atop the Rocca di Cefalù in Cefalù, Sicily, Italy. As early as the 9th century BC, the Sicels worshipped water deities from the cistern atop the Rocca, and, between the 5th and 4th centuries BC, the Ancient Greeks built a temple which was later identified with the Roman goddess Diana (Artemis) and used as a chapel by the 12th century. The temple was excavated in the early 20th century.
