Teebane bombing

The Teebane bombing occurred at 5:00 PM on 17 January 1992 when the Provisional IRA used a roadside bomb to attack a van carrying workers who were employed in repairing a British Army base in Omagh. The bombing killed 7 construction workers and a member of the Royal Irish Rangers, while 6 were injured; the PIRA claimed that the workers were collaborating with the "forces of occupation", justifying their deaths. The attack was believed to be a sectarian attack on Protestants, leading to the Sean Graham bookmakers' shooting by the Ulster Volunteer Force.
