The Tattaglia Compound bombing occurred in December 1945, when Corleone crime family enforcer Aldo Trapani bombed the Tattaglia crime family's compound on Greene Street and Fleet Street in Brooklyn, New York City. Trapani was sent to bomb the compound by Corleone caporegime Salvatore Tessio, who ordered the bombing as a part of his plan to weaken the rival Tattaglia family. Trapani drove a car past the Tattaglia roadblocks and shot his way past the compound's guards, entering the basements of both buildings and planting bombs there. The compound's bombing finished off the Tattaglia family's control of Brooklyn, which was now in Corleone hands. Shortly after, Trapani would go on to continue a series of hits against Tattaglia made men, further weakening Virgil Sollozzo and his Tattaglia backers.
