Tanak Honma

Tanak Honma (1971-) was a Japanese high school delinquent who became a fan of the Arakure Quest video game series. His obsession was such that he talked in role-play gaming lingo, confusing people who weren't into video games at the time. In 1988, out of frustration for the lack of copies of Arakure Quest 3: Quest for the Quantum Quill, he robbed a 9-year-old boy named Akio Ogasawara for his newly bought copy before running off to Pink Street. Kazuma Kiryu witnessed the aftermath and immediately spoke to Akio. Disgusted, Kiryu chased after Honma only to see his copy be taken by Michinaga Naru, a knife wielding gang member. He ran off to Taihei Boulevard East as soon as Kiryu saw him. Kiryu immediately told Honma to hand his copy over, only for the delinquent to fight him.

Though Honma had impressive skill for a high schooler, he was soundly beaten by Kiryu utilizing his brawling style. Akio followed Kiryu, with the ex-yakuza telling Honma to hand over his stolen copy. However, Honma admitted that it was stolen by "a better thief than [him]." Honma was upset by this fact, nearly crying; however, Kiryu told him that he was a pathetic coward who stole from a little kid. He immediately threatened to teach Honma another lesson, before the delinquent ran away, halfheartedly apologizing.
