Tamir bin Musa (23 January 1147 - 2 August 1191), was an infamous black market merchant from the Ayyubid Caliphate who was known for his dealing of weapons and armor to both sides during the Third Crusade. Tamir was responsible for various murders, killing rival merchants to further his own gains. He was killed by the Hashshashin in 1191.
Biography[]
Tamir was the largest black market merchant in Damascus and had the most sizable battle arms trade in the Holy Lands. He was a specialist in armor and weapons and dealt with both the Saracens and the Knights Templar. He ran his operations from the poor district of Damascus.
He was one of "The Nine" targets that the Hashshashin master Rashid ad-Din Sinan marked for execution in 1191 because he took issue to the work that he had done. After investigations, Altair Ibn-La'Ahad found out that Tamir was meeting at the Souk Al-Silaah with other people in one of the biggest deals of his life, and he planned to sneak up and kill him.
Death[]
Tamir was within the souk, preoccupied with preparing a large shipment of weapons, when Altair struck. He entered the bazaar, where he killed one of his men when he said that he demanded too much of him. His brutal murder was witnessed by all. Altair charged out of the crowd and threw him to the ground and lunged his sword into his chest. He revealed that he had brothers, and was a man with a part to play. He told him that the others would not take kindly to what he had done, but died soon after.
