Tamashiro-gumi

The Tamashiro-gumi was a branch of the Tojo-kai clan of the yakuza which operated on the Japanese island of Okinawa. Founded by Tetsuo Tamashiro, the family fought against the Ryudo-ikka for control of downtown Nara from 2007 to 2009. This brought the family into conflict with the Ryudo-ikka's ally, Kazuma Kiryu, who helped the Ryudo-ikka take over Nara and kill Tamashiro in Tokyo after he decided to aid the CIA with its plot to expand the American military base on Okinawa. Tamashiro's death led to the clan's dissolution.
