Tamar

Tamar was an Israelite princess and a daughter of David and Maacah. She and her brother Absalom were regarded as good-looking during their youths, and her half-brother Amnon became obsessed with her and, in 1032 BC, raped her as she tended to his feigned illness. While Amnon had previously professed his love for Tamar, he became angry with her after intercourse and assaulted her. While she demanded that Amnon marry her to preserve her reputation, he refused and forced her out. She tore her robes and left crying, and, after David refused to execute his son for his crime, Absalom had Amnon murdered two years later. Absalom would ask Tamar to give his farewell to their father, knowing that he would be disowned for his actions. After Absalom's death in battle with David in 1023 BC, Tamar became the sole guardian of her niece, and she lived in her late brother's home.
