Mōri Takashi was a colonel in the Imperial Japanese Army during the Righteous Armies Wars. Educated in New York City alongside Eugene Choi, he later fought on the opposite side of the Korean independence struggle from his old friend, who, in spite of representing the United States, chose to aid the Righteous Armies during their anti-Japanese independence struggle. He is member of the Mōri Clan who ruled the Chōshū Domain from 1603-1871 following the abolition of the Han system .
