Tajikistan is a landlocked country in Central Asia and shares borders with Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and China. The country is mainly inhabited by the Persian-speaking Tajiks who are native to the region. The primary religion of Tajikistan is Islam, which is practiced by about 97.5 of the population. Christianity is a minority religion and is mainly practiced by the Russian minority.
