The Tajik Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic was an autonomous republic of the Russian SFSR that existed from 1924 to 1929, with Dyushambe (Dushanbe) serving as the capital. The Tajik ASSR was transformed into a full-fledged Soviet republic in October 1929, and the Tajik SSR was created.
