Taishi Ci (166-209) was an officer of Wu. With his strong sense of duty and a feeling of obligation to his mother, he saved Kong Rong, the prefect of Beihai, from danger. Later, he served Liu Yao and fought Sun Ce to a draw. Liu Yao eventually lost to Sun Ce, forcing Taishi Ci to submit to Sun Ce, serving him from then on. In a surprise attack on Hefei against Xiahou Cun, he was impaled by several arrows while holding off Cao Cao's troops, saving Sun Quan's life.
