Taigi Tanimura

Taigi Tanimura (died 30 April 1985) was a Japanese policeman who served as a detective in the Homicide Division of the Kabukicho Precinct of the TMPD during the 1980s.

Biography[]

Taigi Tanimura was born in Tokyo, Japan, and he became a homicide detective in the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's Kabukicho precinct, becoming the star of his department and working alongside Junji Sugiuchi. In 1984, his friend Yusuke Kaga enlisted Tanimura's help with putting a stop to the Bridge Syndicate, which was responsible for the trafficking of his Thai lover, whom he left with a new child. After Kaga was killed by the syndicate, Tanimura adopted the child and named him Masayoshi. In April 1985, Tanimura discovered the truth behind the Ueno Seiwa hit, learning that Isao Katsuragi and Kazuo Shibata had staged it (with the help of corrupt police) rather than Taiga Saejima. On 30 April 1985, Tanimura headed to meet with Taiga's sister Yasuko Saejima, but he was murdered by his corrupt partner Sugiuchi before meeting her and his body dumped into the Arakawa River.
