Tahir al-Ammar (1765-early February 1799) was an Ottoman militia officer during the French Revolutionary Wars. Born in Gaza City, al-Ammar led a regiment of Orta into battle with the French in the 1799 Battle of Gaza, and he was killed in the disastrous Ottoman defeat there.
