TWA Flight 841 was a Boeing 747 passenger plane that was bombed by the Abu Nidal Organization over the Ionian Sea on 8 September 1974, killing all 88 people on board. The plane left Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, Israel, with its destination being JFK International Airport in New York City, United States, and a Palestinian youth organization put a guerrilla on the plane with a bomb. The bomb was stored in the cargo hold, and the bomb detonated while the plane was flying just off the west coast of Greece, causing for the plane to stall and crash into the Ionian Sea. The bombing was the first time that an Arab suicide bomber attacked an American airplane.
