Sylvester Gilbert (20 October 1755-2 January 1846) was a member of the US House of Representatives (DR-CN AL) from 16 November 1818 to 3 March 1819, succeeding Uriel Holmes and preceding Samuel A. Foot.

Biography[]

Sylvester Gilbert was born in Hebron, Connecticut in 1755, and he practiced law before serving in the state house from 1780 to 1812, as a Tolland County attorney, as a justice of the peace, as a probate court judge from 1807 to 1818, in the state senate from 1815 to 1816, and in the US House of Representatives from 1818 to 1819.
