The Sweden Democrats (SD) is a right-wing populist political party in Sweden that was founded on 6 February 1988. The party had its roots in Swedish fascism and white supremacism and was initially characterized by right-wing extremism and activism; the party's founders spoke fondly of Nazism and used the British National Party's torch as its logo until 2006. The party's main views would become nationalism and social conservatism, and it opposed immigration, the integration of immigrants, multiculturalism, taxes, Sami rights, and European Union membership. Due to its far-right views, Sweden Democrats was unable to form coalition governments with any other party, including the Moderate Party.

On 21 June 2021, all 62 SD MPs voted to oust Stefan Löfven in the no-confidence vote.
