Swabia, called Schwaben in German, is a region of southern Germany. It used to be the Duchy of Swabia, a fief of the Holy Roman Empire, and it was home to the Swabians, a people of Germany who spoke their own Swabian language. Stuttgart is located in Swabia, which is now divided between Baden-Wurttemberg and Bavaria.
