Svetlana Astakhova was a Ukrainian woman who lived in Crimea at the time of the Crimean Crisis of 2014. In March 2014, she participated in pro-Ukraine demonstrations in Simferopol, hoping to show the world that Russian propaganda was false and that Crimea was not wholly supportive of leaving Ukraine.
