The Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution is an executive council in Iran that was founded in December 1984. The council debates and approves its own relevant issues, and approved issues became law under Ayatollah Khomeini. The council's goal was to ensure that Iran's culture and education remained "100% Islamic" and that outside cultural influences and ideologies were kept out, purging education of Western and non-Islamic influences during the 1980s.
