Supponidi

The Supponidi were a Frankish noble family that descended from Suppo I of Spoleto, an ally of Louis the Pious of West Francia. The family ruled the Duchy of Spoleto in opposition to the Guideschi clan, and the family would later expand to Parma, Cremona, and Piacenza. After the death of Louis the Pious, the Supponidi supported the Germans in their invasion of Italy in hopes of deposing the Guideschi, but they fell out with Berengar I of Italy in 913, joining Rudolph II of Burgundy's faction in 922. The family later disappeared from records after the mid-10th century.
