Sun Dancer (died 12 December 1864) was a Sioux chief during the Colorado War.
Biography[]
Sun Dancer was born to the Sioux tribe, and he became a war chief for his people. Sun Dancer resisted the United States as they advanced west, and he defended his village at Mason's Clearing from the US Army during the Colorado War. He was killed by Comanche tribesmen allied to the Americans on 12 December 1864 shortly before the battle of Mason's Clearing.
