The Sultan Murad Division was an armed Syrian Opposition group that was active from 23 March 2013 during the Syrian Civil War. The division consisted of Syrian Turkmen, and it was committed to Islamism and Turkish nationalism. The group was supported by the United States and Turkey, with the USA providing it with BGM-71 TOW missiles; the USA's support for the group would decrease as Turkey supplied it with grenade launchers and armored vehicles. By 2016, the group had around 1,300 fighters, and the group would later be accused of committing atrocities in areas of northern Syria controlled by Turkey.
