Suheil al-Hassan

Suheil al-Hassan (1970-) was a Brigadier-General of the Syrian Arab Army during the Syrian Civil War.

Biography[]

Suheil al-Hassan was born in 1970 in Jableh, Latakia Governorate, Syria to a family of Alawites. Al-Hassan enlisted in the Syrian Air Force and served in the Air Force Command and intelligence before the start of the Syrian Civil War, where he rose through the ranks and emerged as an important commander of the Syrian Arab Republic. al-Hassan was known to frequently visit his soldiers on the front lines and increase their morale, and he was an old-fashioned general who wrote poetry and gave his enemies a chance to surrender; if they refused or betrayed him, he would have no mercy on them.
