The Sudeten German Party (SdP) was a fascist political party in Czechoslovakia that was active from 1933 to 1938. The SdP was founded by Konrad Henlein some months after the Czechoslovak government outlawed the Nazi Party in the country. With the rise of the Nazis in Germany, the Sudeten German Party became a major pro-Nazi force in Czechoslovakia with the goal of breaking the country up and joining Nazi Germany. By June 1938, the party had over 1,300,000 members (40% of the Sudeten German population), and it gained 88% of German votes in the May 1938 communal elections. The party merged into the Nazi Party after the annexation of the Sudetenland by Germany in the autumn of 1938.
