Stump Sisson (1931-1984) was the Klan Grand Dragon of Mississippi during the 1980s. In 1984, he was killed by a Molotov cocktail thrown by anti-racist demonstrator Jamyron Joyner during a riot in Canton.
Biography[]
Stump Sisson was born in Mississippi in 1931, and he became a member of the Ku Klux Klan due to his hatred for African-Americans and his support for white supremacism. He soon became Grand Dragon of Mississippi, and he oversaw the Klan's dormant stage from the end of the Civil Rights movement in 1968 until Carl Lee Hailey's murder trial in 1984. Freddie Lee Cobb enlisted the help of Sisson and the Klan in influencing the trial, and Sisson and the Klan terrorized the city of Canton with the goal of intimidating locals into supporting the state against Hailey. However, during a Klan rally in the city, Sisson was killed when anti-racist demonstrator Jamyron Joyner hurled a Molotov cocktail at him.
