Stowe of London

Stowe was the Reeve of Western London during the late 9th century AD.

Biography[]

Stowe was born in London, Middlesex, Mercia to a humble Anglo-Saxon family. He was orphaned at a young age and raised by Roman Catholic priests; his love of boxing and justice led him from the cloth to reevehood. He saw the ruling of London as a family, with Tryggr at the head as father, Avgos Spearhand as a brother, and eastern London reeve Erke Bodilsson as his romantic partner. In 874 AD, Stowe befriended the Norwegian Viking Eivor, who had come to London to seek an alliance with Tryggr, only to find that Tryggr had been murdered by the Order of the Ancients. Eivor helped Stowe and Erke investigate the Order, with Stowe and Eivor working on identifying "the Arrow", whom Eivor ultimately identified as Avgos before killing him. The three of them later fought in the final battle against the Order, led by Vicelin, escaping from the burning St. Paul's Cathedral. Eivor slew Vicelin on his ship before returning to Stowe and Erke, who promised that London would be at Eivor's side when he needed them.
