Stephen F. Sisolak (26 December 1953-) was the Democratic Governor of Nevada from 7 January 2019 to 2 January 2023, succeeding Brian Sandoval and preceding Joe Lombardo.
Biography[]
Stephen F. Sisolak was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1953, and he was raised in Wauwatosa. After attending the University of Nevada in Las Vegas, Sisolak became an entrepreneur and became a partner in a telemarketing company. He went on to serve on the Nevada Board of Regents from 1999 to 2008, on the Clark County Commission from 2009 to 2019, and as Governor of Nevada from 2019 to 2023, governing as a moderate liberal Democrat. He lost re-election to the Republican Joe Lombardo in 2022.
