Stephen Wright Kellogg

Stephen Wright Kellogg (5 April 1822-27 January 1904) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-CN 2) from 4 March 1869 to 3 March 1875, succeeding Julius Hotchkiss and preceding James Phelps.

Biography[]

Stephen Wright Kellogg was born in Shelburne, Massachusetts in 1822, and he worked as a farmer before becoming a lawyer in 1848. He practiced in Naugatuck before serving as a judge in Waterbury for seven years, serving as city attorney from 1866 to 1869 and from 1877 to 1883. He served in the US House of Representatives from 1869 to 1875. He dedicated the next several years to his service as a Brigadier-General in the state national guard, and he died in 1904.
