Stephen MacRay (1951-) was an American armed robber and the father of Doug MacRay.
Biography[]
Stephen MacRay was born in Charlestown, Boston, Massachusetts in 1951, and he married Doris. Together, they had one son, Doug MacRay. Stephen MacRay, like many other Charlestown residents, took to bank and armored car robbery to provide for himself, and Irish Mob boss Fergus Colm got Doris MacRay addicted to drugs so that he could control Stephen. MacRay took part in the famous "Nashua job", in which he hijacked an armored car up to New Hampshire and shot both guards with their own weapons after one of the guards saw his face; as a result, no armored car drivers were allowed to leave their cabs. MacRay was arrested and sentenced to life in prison, and his son would occasionally visit him.
