
Stephen Allen (2 July 1767 – 28 July 1852) was Mayor of New York City (DR) from December 1821 to 1824, succeeding Cadwallader D. Colden and preceding William Paulding Jr..
Biography[]
Stephen Allen was born in 1767, and he was a wealthy sailmaker before serving as Mayor of New York City from 1821 to 1824. In 1826, he served in the General Assembly, and he served in the State Senate from 1829 to 1832. He died in a steamboat fire in 1852.
