Stanley Brent Wood (born 11 October 1936) was a Colonel of the US Marine Corps. Wood commanded the 26th Marine Regiment during the Vietnam War, and served in Operation Black Thunder and many other engagements.

Stanley Brent Wood was born on 11 October 1936 in Hartford, Connecticut, in the United States. Wood was drafted into the US Marine Corps in 1965 at the age of 19, and Wood served in the Vietnam War. By 1968 he had risen to the rank of Colonel of the 26th Marine Regiment, and Wood took an active role in the war in Vietnam. During Operation Black Thunder on 4 July 1968, Wood was ordered to drive off a force of People's Army of Vietnam (PAVN) troops that had reached the outskirts of Saigon, and he did so with heavy losses. Wood continued to take an active role in attacks on North Vietnamese forces in cooperation with the US-trained South Vietnamese Army (SVA), and Wood returned home in May 1973 when the war ended. He retired in 1980 at the age of 44 and lives in Brooklyn, Connecticut today.
