Stanley Graham Stephens (16 September 1929-3 April 2021) was the Republican Governor of Montana from 2 January 1989 to 4 January 1993, succeeding Ted Schwinden and preceding Marc Racicot.
Biography[]
Stanley Graham Stephens was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 1929, and he moved to Montana when he was 19. He served in the US Army during the Korean War before working in broadcasting in Havre, Montana for 38 years. He also served in the State Senate from 1969 to 1985 and as Governor from 1989 to 1993, and he died in 2021.
