St. Stephen's Green

St. Stephen's Green is a garden square and public park located in the city center of Dublin, Ireland. The park was created in 1664 on the site of a marshy, 60-acre common on the edge of Dublin, and it was named for a nearby hospital dedicated to Saint Stephen. In 1877, Parliament passed an act to reopen the green to the public, 250 fighters of the Irish Citizen Army established a base at the green during the 1916 Easter Rising.
