Springfield in 1898
Springfield is a town in Colorado and the county seat of Baca County. It was founded in 1888 by the Tipton brothers of Springfield, Missouri, who had moved to Las Animas in 1886 before purchasing 80 acres of land in southeastern Colorado. In 2019, Springfield had a population of 1,375 people.
