The Spanish Lords (Founded 1982) is a Puerto Rican gang in the United States that controls territory across the New York City metropolitan area, including parts of North Jersey. The gang's strongholds were South Bronx, Fordham, Corona, Spanish Harlem, and Jersey City, and the gang maintained a strong street presence in its gang territories, gathering in groups. The gang's colors were black and gold, and some gang members also wore Puerto Rican flag colors (red, white, and blue). The gang was involved in numerous rackets, including racketeering, prostitution, and drug dealing, with the latter two plaguing The Bronx during the 2000s. Almost all crime in South Bronx and Fordham was committed by the Spanish Lords gang, which was responsible for gang-related violence, drug dealing, and prostitution on the streets. In Jersey City, the gang shared territory with the North Korean Mafia, and it had friendly relations with the Koreans. The gang was weakened by a series of thefts of its drugs by ND3 gang associates Henrique Bardas and Armando Torres, who hired their friend Luis Fernando Lopez to assist them. The gang's former leader, Manny Escuela, was murdered by rival crime boss Elizabeta Torres that same year.
