Spanish Alternative (AES) is a national conservative and far-right political party in Spain that was founded in 2003. The party agreed with many of the late Falangist dictator Francisco Franco's policies, and the party was opposed to abortion, "pro-family" (anti-homosexual), protective of Spain's "Christian roots", and dedicated to preserving the unity of the country (abolishing autonomous communities). The AES positioned itself as the only Spanish Catholic party outside of the People's Party of Spain, earning it some minor support; in 2017, it held 5/67,611 local government seats in Spain.
