Sonora is a state of northwest Mexico, with Hermosillo serving as its capital. The state borders Chihuahua to the east, Baja California to the northwest, and Sinaloa to the south, while it borders the US states of Arizona and New Mexico to the north. Agriculture, livestock, and mining are the main industries of the region. In 2015, Sonora had a population of 2,850,330 people.
