Sonny Bunz was the owner of the Bamboo Lounge in Queens, New York City. Sonny was an associate of the Lucchese crime family, and he later requested Paul Cicero's protection against the patron Tommy DeVito, who slammed a drink on his head when he reminded him of his debt of $7,000 to the establishment. Bunz now had to pay Cicero a cut of the action in exchange for having him to call on when the NYPD or DeVito gave him trouble. When the money ran dry, Bunz signed the place over to Cicero, and the Mafia had the lounge torched by DeVito and Henry Hill.
