Snake Flower Triad

The Snake Flower Triad was a Chinese triad organization based in Yokohama, Japan. It was founded by Lau Ka Long during the 1980s, and it extorted local businesses for protection money and forged passports and travel documents for illegal immigrants.

It was initially rivals with the Yokohama Liumang before making peace with the Liumang in the early 1990s, but it found even more powerful rivals in the Yakuza, with Kazuma Kiryu inflicting heavy losses on the Triad in a gang war in Tokyo in 2005. By 2009, the weakened Snake Flower Triad was forced to partner with the Hamazaki-gumi to control Yokohama, but Lau was killed by Joji Kazama in 2009, with his death bringing down most of the Triad's operations in Japan.

However, the Triad was able to retaliate against their erstwhile allies, the Hamazaki-gumi, by killing most of their officers to avenge the Hamazaki-gumi's responsibility for dragging Lau into a war which resulted in his death.
