The Smithsonian Castle is the house of the Smithsonian Institute's administrative offices and information center, located near the National Mall in Washington DC. It was built from 1849 to 1855 in a faux Norman style, combining late Romanesque and early Gothic motifs. It became a National Historic Landmark in 1965.
