
Smith Miller (30 May 1804-21 March 1872) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-IN 1) from 4 March 1853 to 3 March 1857, interrupting James Lockhart's terms. Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, he settled in Patoka, Indiana in 1813 and worked as a farmer. He served in the state house from 1835 to 1839 and in 1846, in the state senate from 1841 to 1844 and from 1847 to 1850, and in Congress.
